EPA is the long chain fat marker for optimal blood vessel health; when it is low the blood vessels tend to be stiff and less pliable. This test also reveals the ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fats. We have found over time, today’s process snack foods are filled with omega-6 fats, which when in excess, unknowingly can be created a list of one's health challenges, including inflammation.
When omega-6 fats are consumed in excess compared to the omega-3 fats, they can evolve to another fat which produces pain and inflammation called arachidonic acid. Anyone creating a plan for long-term optimal wellness would be wise to incorporate this test to assist them in what oils are needed.
