Description
The thyroid gland is a key for all metabolic functions in the body including but not limited to your body temperature, cholesterol levels, energy, hair quality, depression, weight gain or loss, ear ringing, cracked heels, teeth position, morning headaches, dry skin and so much more.
The test includes your Total T4, T-3 Uptake, Free Thyroxin Index (FTI) and TSH.

Once this test is completed, we will be able to assess the functionality of your thyroid glands ability to utilize iodine and other cofactors to create thyroid function. Each marker in the test has a specific purpose. The numbers in relation to the normal range is used as the foundation to create a protocol. Oftentimes, the test is repeated in three to six months to assess all areas of thyroid function including the role stress plays in optimal thyroid hormone levels.
Upon Ordering:
- You will receive an email with a requisition attached.
- Take the requisition with you to your nearest Lab Corp; You will need a valid ID the day of the test.
- You will need to fast (refrain from food and any beverages besides water) 12 hours prior to the test.
- It is OK to brush your teeth. Please avoid any other product that has any type of chemical or sugar.
Other Important Notes:
-Each marker in this test has a specific purpose. For example - if the T4 number is less than the midline, your body may need iodine and L-Tyrosine.
-The numbers in relation to the normal range is used as the foundation to create a protocol.
As stated above, the test is typically repeated every three to six months to assess all areas of the thyroid function, including the role stress plays in optimal thyroid hormone levels.
